"Read like a story, the painting is a mneumonic device intended as a reminder to my daughter and myself on what to remember in our prayers. Praying is personal, and I don't believe there is a right or a wrong way. I thank the Creator, Grandfather Sun, Grandmother Moom, Mother Earth and all the waters for giving us life. I thank the plants, our first family, for giving the earth life and sustaining all the creatures, including us, on this earth. I thank them for the inspiration they give my for may paintings and what they have taught me about life. I thank all the creatures, the animals, the birds, water creatures and insects for keeping the earth moving and for giving of themselves so we can live. I pray for human beings that we will be kind and generous towards each other. I thank the spirits of the four directions for giving us gifts. And I thank the Creator for this precious and rare gift of life that we've been given. Miigwetch."
