Jill Campbell

jill campbell

work description:

Jill Campbell works in several mediums with an eclectic sense of the unity of the world underlying the diverse uses of image, texture and emotion. She has worked since she was young and actually began winning prizes in competitions as early as 17 years old. One of the very interesting facts about her art career is that when she was married to a rock musician in Spain during the 1970s she produced all of the photography for all magazines and press releases as well as album covers, posters, batik-portrait T-shirts for the star. This gave her the impetus to start thinking of art as central to a way of life, not an addition, but an essence.
She has written an illustrated books that have been published in her field of psychology, particular for adolescence. There are also works that have yet to be published which include a book called Word Couplings that, in truth couples words and artwork.
Most work has a human element mysteriously placed within it. Double entendre is common. Art is both in thinking and feeling and therefore she feels should evoke both responses.
This past year she has shown in one woman shows at: Creole Gallery, Old Town, Lansing, Mi., Cappuccino Café, E. Lansing, Mi. and Absolute Gallery in Old Town.
