Richard Edwards

short work description:

"First Light" Watercolour Painting. Camping on location I setup my paper and paints before sunrise. I am always surprised how long it takes from first light until the sun actually appears. I enjoy this time of morning and in Greek Myths the goddess "Aurora" is the rose colour light from sunrise as well the first breath of air that distrubes the mirror of the water. The watercolour sketch is very quick and I use these acurate colours in a larger painting or the idea behind my serigraphs. I enjoy the quick colour sketch watercolour can provide as well as the refind images of a studio painting.
